1. Before
The living area needed to fulfil lots of roles for different members of the household.
A place for cooking, eating, dining, working, relaxing and playing.
In order to achieve this we sectioned off areas for different purposes.
The dividing kitchen wall was lowered so that a breakfast bar could be added for eating, completing homework and  socialising. Thus giving the kitchen access to the rest of the room and opening  the space to create a view point of the garden.
The area adjacent to the kitchen was decluttered to  become an area for more formal dining.
The childrens play area was streamlined and storage solutions were suggested to minimise the amount on show.
As the 'hub' of the house this area is now functional and  inviting. A space that is contemporary while fulfilling the families needs.
